About Andie

Lilith Fair PhotoSee the blonde hand-clapper second from the right?  The one in the sensible sandals and flowered sundress that Meredith Brooks is leaning away from for fear of catching acute schoolmarmism? That’s me on the Lilith Fair stage back in 19 … well, sometime in the last century.

I’ve spent the majority of my career as a singer/songwriter and commercial composer, having had the privilege of opening for artists such as Joe Cocker, k.d. Lang, Jann Arden, and for Sarah McLachlan’s Estrofest, to namedrop a few.  If you’re curious, by all means check out this  Lilith Fair video, if you promise to come back.  There I am at 0:33, and again at 2:10 looking catatonically melodious.

I truly loved making music, one of the purest joys still in my life.  But after three albums and one JUNO Nomination (JUNO = GRAMMY’s Canadian cousin, twice removed), I decided to pack up my piano and tackle a different kind of writing and performing.  (Not to beat this dog n’ pony show to death, but incase you’re interested, here’s my red carpet moment at the JUNOs in 2010… yeah, paparazzi can be so tedious).

So now I’m a full time voice actor, only dabbling in humour writing whenever it turns my estrogen-depleted crank.

But enough about me … what do you think about me?!  I’d love to get your feedback, so please feel free to make a comment, or like a post if the mood strikes.  Better yet, follow me around!  I don’t find that creepy at all.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. At first, I thought “Wow, my photography is awesome, some random lady liked my post”. But then I realized, it could be just another way to promote one’s blog. Howbeit, nice blog and I am following it !

  2. Thanks for liking my post Andie. Looking forward to more and now catching up from holidays. I’m an ex-patriot from Toronto (1982-86) living now back in the hot Arizona weather. Hope you are surviving this bitter cold in Toronto this year. My best friend still lives in Toronto and says its been brutal.

  3. Thanks for liking my post Andie. So glad you did because it led to me discovering this gem of a blog. ‘GRAMMY’s Canadian cousin, twice removed’, still chuckling…

  4. Hi Andie, I have nominated you for a Sunshine Award! Have a look at my blog to see how to accept it. If you don’t want it, no worries. You are still a ray of sunshine!

  5. Thanks so much Anna – I’m delighted that you’re enjoying my posts! This VBA is my fourth now, so while I’m honoured for the nomination, I hope you’ll understand if I quietly accept your kind gesture with my genuine gratitude. Keep writing – your blog is lovely and sincere! 🙂
